A week after assembling my new gaming PC, my 2015 Asus Rog Swift PG279Q accidentally cracked the screen. I made the mistake of discounting it and replacing it with another monitor for less than half the price of this monitor, I won't say which one but it only took a day to realize that you get what you get for pay. I returned it and paid the price for an updated version of what I had and am very happy with. The cheaper monitor didn't have a dedicated G-Sync module like my 2015 model, and that definitely makes a big difference to what I believe to be software-induced G-Sync compatibility. The variable refresh rate of a true integrated G-Sync monitor is very smooth, and this monitor does more than just that. Colors are nice to begin with, but with a little tweaking it got even better. I used the rtings.com icc profile, a few tweaks in the Nvidia control panel. I forgot to mention that my device had no backlight/IPS Glow or dead or stuck pixels. The text clarity is also excellent compared to the cheaper bad buy mentioned above. Worth every penny!
