I'm crazy about my Vitamix blender! The large container is great for large batches but not very suitable for smaller batches due to the strong blending abilities, smaller batches will be thrown aside and off the blades. I bought a 36 ounce blender bowl, 2 smoothie containers, and 2 8 ounce blender bowls, plus a scraper to get to and around the blades and sides to pick up every last drop. Yes, it's a big expense, and yes, it's worth all the hype I've heard about the Vitamix for years. My last blender was left under the cabinet and taken out from time to time. However, this one stays up and is used every day. I use it for regular smoothies of course, but since switching to a plant-based diet I use it to make raw cashew nut sauces, whip up a batch of almond milk, grind up all the ingredients for delicious soups and I even have my own group, nut butter. NO, I'm not a crazy vegan, just a normal girl who eats more naturally. This blender makes this job easy. I've never had such a creamy blender sauce, smooth as silk, without the need to soak the nuts first. You will not be disappointed with this purchase once you get over the shock of the stickers. The adage "you get what you pay for" applies to purchasing this blender.
