Although I like this hat, I have not used it for its intended purpose, hunting, just tried it around the house, I like it. Orange is the typical bright orange color of a typical hunting cap or vest. This is a good weight and quality hat, not a cheap thin easy to stretch hat. Even if the light stops working, I still have a good quality cap. The lantern slides easily into and out of the rubber mount. It seems like a very high quality job sewing this rubber piece onto the hat. I assume that the light can "fall out" of the hat, but it seems to me that it is safe enough there. I have an outlet in my kitchen that also has 2 USB ports and this light is perfect for those charging ports. Light has 3 settings or intensities. I think you could name them; brighter, brighter and brighter. Simply press the small round button in the center of the light once to make it glow, press again to get brighter, and a third press to go to the maximum brightness setting. I'm not sure how many Lums# for each intensity and I don't care. I only need the light for close work like setting up a tree stand, taking it down from a tree or shearing a deer in the field. All 3 intensities are bright enough for my intended use, close to projects where I have both hands free to work on and still have enough light to see. Can't speak to longevity and longevity yet. My only criticism or recommendation is to offer orange and camouflage hats at a reduced price like you already do with other color combinations. I could still buy both orange and camouflage separately, but there are plenty of others that make sense for both gunhunting (an orange hat is required by law) and bowhunting (where full camouflage is permitted). . I can fully recommend this product. And I was not paid for this review, nor did I receive anything.
