I have installed these throughout the house to replace the standard 'decorative' switches. They are so similar to others that they don't stand out in any way. This is a great option for home automation. I set them up via IFTTT - the ones connected to my external (and some of my internal) lights turn off at dawn and turn on again at sunset. I never come home to a dark house. Best of all, they make home automation less scary for my husband, who doesn't really want to shout commands at the Echo. I am 54 years old and install them in less than 10 minutes. The most confusing part of the process is that my house MP is written in German with a very weak pencil. I've tried putting smart bulbs in a couple of lightbulbs but my spouse turned them off instead of using Echo or the app so I installed those where I have lights and for everything else I have one now HUE system with dimmers on the wall so my spouse can push the buttons. One note: you MUST have a white wire in the junction box to make a connection. Otherwise it doesn't work. I find the TP-Link brand quite reliable and I hope it continues like this. They seem less buggy than others and I like the lack of a hub.
