They were very easy to install but make sure you use painters tape on the bodywork before drilling the mounting holes. This protects the gelcoat from chipping and cracking. I first set them to the middle position (position 3) on a 16.5ft speedboat. They work incredibly well, maybe even too well. The boat is on plane almost immediately and you can ease off the throttle and still keep it on plane. Before these Smart Tabs, my boat would fall out of the plane and then float until I was over 30mph. Now it's amazing how much better the ride and handling is. I'm going to try the tabs in the lowest position (position 1) this weekend because the boat had REALLY a lot of bow rudder at over 40mph at WOT. Overall I am very impressed with this product.
