Cube 1-3-5-10 worked as expected switch 15-20-30-60 is very difficult to move and only then stops at " off" or "loud", it doesn't stop on "low" alarm. Customer service was great. They also never asked me to change my rating which was 3 stars, CS was quick and hassle free. Looking at these plastic gravity timers on Amzn, they appear to be identical despite the huge price difference. There are other styles too such as the large display countdown clock below and some of them are brightly lit, both would be nice upgrades especially if you need to see the time easily. These upgraded versions cost about two to four times the price of these dice. While the small clocks on it can be seen sitting at arm's length on a table, they don't work as clearly due to the small size of the display and the lack of a bright backlight. They work best as a reminder when the total time set has elapsed. A loud sound won't reach your ears, but it should get your attention. "Quieter" sound is a small step down from "loud". Whatever you choose, it's the beep you hear when you turn the cube, a beep when you turn it on its side, and the countdown begins. The timer alarm lasts 15 flashes with 4 beeps. . . etc., then it goes silent unless you reset it first as that will stop the "beep" signals. It doesn't beep until you flip it, after 15 shots it's silent. This is a reminder clock, not an alarm clock. There is an "off" setting that can extend battery life by turning it off between uses or at the end of the day. The plastic seems brittle, I don't think it will withstand a fall. on a hard floor. As a solution, I put on rubber bands (large for file folders) to provide better grip and protection in the event of a fall. The bars are above and below the numbers and the bars do not affect the timer function. The bonus with rubber bands is that the cube stays in place on the table and you always have a rubber band handy. Adding stickers to the top and sides can personalize the cube and perhaps encourage its use for those who don't like the bell-shaped look. First. Good price and you can always upgrade if you need specific features.
