Like some other reviewers I bought this to fix a leaking shower faucet that was faulty. Having several similar products to choose from, I got lucky with this one. I needed a device that would shut off the water completely, not just reduce the flow, and it really worked. The valve is a quarter turn ceramic valve used in many new faucets and is therefore designed as a shut off valve. My drip was completely gone and the fix was pretty easy. The only problem I had with installing it was overtightening the fitting the first time and cutting off the rubber washer. Guilty. I bought a new washer to replace the damaged one, being careful not to screw it in too tight. Ideal!
