Review on PINKZIO Silicon Cleaning Mat for Effortless Makeup Brush Cleaning - Baby Pink, 1 Count by Heather Artis

Great alternative to more expensive brush cleaning mats

I wanted a brush cleaning mat for my brushes but didn't see the point of paying $20-30 for a name brand brush cleaning mat. (A silicone mat with spikes is a silicone mat with spikes, right?) I'm very glad I chose this mat. It's a nice size, has a few different textures (similar to the $25 Sigma matte), and is great for cleaning brushes. The only possible downsides are that it doesn't have suction cups on the back to hold it in place in the sink and no instructions. However, the usage is pretty obvious. I just put the mat in the sink, pour some water on it, squirt some liquid soap on it (you don't need much), and rub it on the brushes until they're clean (quick). I also use it for rinsing - just run the water over it while I scrub the mat with the brushes. This type of pad definitely speeds up the cleaning process and really cleans your brushes thoroughly. The different textures on the mat are great for getting the most out of your brushes, especially if you use a lot of dense synthetic Kabuki or Artis brushes that are notoriously difficult to clean. Personally, I find a flat-bottomed sink (like a kitchen sink) easier to use than a smaller sink. This rug is a great alternative to more expensive rugs and I would definitely recommend it.
