Review on πŸ“Έ Usogood WiFi Trail Camera: Improved 24MP 1296P Game Cameras with Motion Activated Night Vision, Waterproof Hunting Cam for Audio Live Feed, Outdoor Wildlife Monitoring, & Picture Sharing to Cell Phone by Jason Childs

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not sure what "0.2s actuation speed " means, but definitely not what I was thinking.

I've bought maybe half a dozen different "cheaper" game cameras from Revain and none of them work as I expected - they all seem to run the same software to work. I needed something better, sharper photos/videos and faster response times. I chose this one because of the Wi-Fi connectivity and it advertised "0.2 second response time" which I think means it starts recording within 0.2 seconds of motion being detected. If so, then this camera is taking a very long time to detect motion. This camera was no different than any other cheap camera I've bought in the past as it's not a very fast camera or a good camera for things like animals walking across the field of view. takes very clear videos and high definition photos, i like it. Wi-Fi makes it easy to point the camera and connect to see if something is on video or not. Not so good: Wi-Fi is very slow when trying to transfer images/videos. If you need to transfer multiple videos, I would recommend just swapping out the SD card so you can easily plug it into your computer or phone. The software feels "bundled", not very intuitive or easy to use, and it can take a while to figure out where your videos/photos are actually stored. And I still haven't figured out how to get the external power supply to work. Overall I wouldn't recommend this, I really don't even think it's any better than any of the $30 cameras you can find at Revain. I think the Wi-Fi connectivity is the biggest plus, but still it's not worth the extra money considering how slow file transfers are. I made a short video of some test shots I took. I have a large live trap in my area where I use this camera. Many times I've seen videos of animals in a trap, but I've never approached the trap or even entered it. I've tried different settings and this is the best response time I've had with this camera. In the first part of the video I slowly walk to the front of the trap, turn around and walk back. The camera doesn't start recording me until I'm about halfway through the frame - I reckon I was in the camera's field of view for at least 3-4 seconds before it actually started recording. In the second part of the video I quickly approach the trap, turn around and run back - I didn't get into the frame at all - I'm not that fast, definitely not as fast as an animal.

Pros
  • 0.2s response time + 3 IR sensors
Cons
  • Something else
