Review on 🚲 Schwinn 2-Bike Trunk Rack - Car Bike Rack for Easy Transportation by Nick Singh

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Complete junk - do not buy

A hole for the mounting bracket was misaligned and required the use of a hammer to install or remove it . No problem, unless you can't adjust it on the go. We used it on a five day trip and I think we stopped 50 times (no exaggeration) to have it fitted. The buckles slip, causing the rack to constantly shift to the point of complete instability. The pads/straps that hold the bike in place are also slipping, causing the bike to move a lot. In combination with the lack of proper struts, the body of our Subaru Forrester received scratches, as well as paint on many parts of one of the bikes. Now the whole back door needs to be repainted. We were so pissed off at the end of the ride and worried our bikes might not make it home and fall off or the trunk would fail completely. This thing is complete nonsense, and it didn't have one flaw, almost the entire design. We made so many tweaks, added bungee cords and different straps and nothing really helped. It generally sucks. I get $60 back when I return it and I have a $500 paint job on the car and my new hybrid bike is scratched like hell.

Pros
  • This universal bike rack for two bikes fits most sedans, hatchbacks and vans for convenient and easy travel
Cons
  • Large and unwieldy
