Very satisfied.: Post-Mount Mailboxes

There has been a lot of mail theft and mailbox vandalism in our area in recent months. I had important mail stolen and on our street I saw lockable mailboxes being destroyed (plastic mailboxes) or forced open (metal mailboxes). as safe as possible. After doing a lot of research before my election, I thought I'd share my findings in case anyone in the neighborhood is in a similar situation. I BOUGHT A BOX: A mailbox I purchased and am very happy with, Mail Boss 7107 Curbside Security Locking Mailbox by Epoch Design, available on amazon.com for $160. Here are some of its main features: o It is made of thicker steel than most other mailboxes: This makes it more resistant to physical attacks. than most. o It has a strong lock that is difficult to pick: therefore it resists picking better than most. o The way the lock locks the door when closed is strong and tamper resistant: so it can withstand brute force. or picking is better than most locks. o Neither an adult nor a child can enter the slot and extract the mail: unlike some others I've researched. o It's fairly easy to install (compared to most other large lockable boxes). in four colors: This is great because I wanted a white box, not a black one. t many packages. They come in different sizes. I've researched mailboxes worth up to $800. None of them could accept anything other than rather small packages which make up a small percentage of the packages I receive. Most of them cannot even accept the smallest boxes that amazon.com uses. I've analyzed my risks and found that the least likely mail I can lose are credit card envelopes, paychecks, PINs, and bills (although we receive many bills electronically). , and one day Social Security exams. The mailbox I bought is the best I have found for this type of mail. It can also accommodate very small boxes, no thicker than the boxes that used to hold stacks of checks. NEXT BEST OPTION: In my area, the most common lockable metal mailbox I've seen is the Oasis Jr. Architectural Mailboxes model 6200B-10. It can be found at Lowes, Home Depot, and amazon.com for less than $100 Although I've never seen one destroyed in our area, compared to what I bought it has a flimsy lock, latch mechanism, and thinner metal (which is less resistant to attack from a baseball bat to which I also found) a YouTube video (which Revain won't let me provide a URL for) showing how easy it is to hack the package or in some cases access and extract it.
