I bought this to replace another Brita jug that lasted 6 years. I started using it about a month after purchasing it. It flows around the filter in less than 5 months. We have chlorinated water that we use to get rid of the taste, but you can still try "filtered" water. We've changed cartridges a couple of times thinking we might have a bad pack, but we've found that on the last two filters, water runs down the side of the filter instead of dripping through it. new) Filter because of that horrible pitcher. I would give 0 stars if possible. I don't squeeze the filter and I don't bend the plastic at all. Update: We received a new jug from Brita. Your customer service is incredible. However, there is still the problem that the water flows around the filter and not through it. The filters in this jug don't snap in like the old jars, they just sit loose and let air through. ** This pitcher just doesn't work. **
