I have purchased both this Fahrenheit thermometer and the dual Celsius/Fahrenheit thermometer (ASIN B00551OH8A) which are the same size and temperature range (0 to 220 F or - 10 to 110 Β°C). This thermometer only has a Fahrenheit scale, so the tick marks are larger and easier to read. Because it's very easy to convert F to C, I prefer this model to the double-read model. The scale font is 3/16" tall and "bold" compared to the "small" 2/16" for the dual-scale model. . . visually this is a significant difference in readability. The blue and red liquids of other thermometers only seem to be a difference in color and I see no difference in legibility. The thermometer has an aluminum protective case with a sliding pocket clip. The lid has a lanyard ring (not included). The overall length of the thermometer in the tread is 6 3/8 inches; outside the tread it is 6 inches; the scale itself is 3 1/8 inches. The thick glass makes the thermometer durable and less fragile, while the white back makes it easy to read. An accuracy of 2 degrees Fahrenheit is acceptable for a short pocket thermometer. I use the thermometer in the field to measure water temperatures in streams and lakes and its protective cover and small size make it very handy. I would recommend it as a thermometer if the temperature range and accuracy is right for your purposes.
