First the kit : Honestly, it was everything I hoped for. Easy to assemble, all heatsinks were easy to attach, just needed a bit of GoogleFu for a few small things (fan direction, GPIO pin usage, etc.). The most important thing to know is that this kit has everything you need and the case seems to keep the Pi4b from overheating pretty well. As for the 8GB Pi4b itself, I'm not using a RaspberryPi. As a desktop (my favorite desktop SBC is the Jetson Nano), I bought the 8GB version to run LXD system containers (and nested Docker app containers inside LXD). And for that purpose it's fantastic. A new SOC with proper USB3/GIG-E connectivity (plus improved SD performance) means the 8GB Pi 4b is a great high-density container host. I have 7 main LXD containers running on Ubuntu 20.04 with everything from PiHole to Squid. You need a tiny ARM64 server with Ubuntu Server 20.04 64-bit support and enough memory to run some serious stuff. The 8GB Pi4b is a good choice.
