For a few days I've been looking for an inexpensive tester that can be used to test BNC and CAT cables. My choice fell on this model, NF-8601W or NF-388. My group already has a basic small CAT tester, a BNC general purpose tester, and an expensive Fluke, but I wanted something that combined the first two without the expense associated with a Fluke test tool since technicians can be picky about equipment and I do I can't afford to constantly replace $2,000 worth of equipment. I ended up buying the NF-8601W and it is excellent value for money. One of my installers has used this device in three separate installations, two for CAT5 cable and one for BNC, and loves its ease of use. The cable length function is very accurate after calibration, the test function is clear and simple, and the toning function is one of the best I've seen on a tester. The language on the device and accompanying instructions was clearly not written by a native speaker. English speaking but clear enough to be understood by anyone who has used basic testing tools in the past. 5/5 - would buy again
