If you are replacing the front wheel bearing assembly in your 4th generation 4x4 4Runner (that's a lot of 4) it is recommended that you also replace this wheel seal. It mounts on the inside of the knuckle (where the constant shaft enters) and prevents dirt/dirt/water/protein from entering the wheel bearing. The cost of this seal is minimal and will help a freshly installed new wheel bearing last as long as possible. It's Timken which I believe is Toyota's OE supplier for these seals, so the quality and fit are top notch. .
