Review on Versatile and Sturdy Professional Mini Ball ๐Ÿ“ท Head Camera Mount: A Must-Have for Precision Shots by Veronica Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very effective, great for tripods and monopods

I was a little hesitant to order as it's not a heavy version. For my application it is perfect. It bolts onto a 74" Manfrotto 5001B Nano stand, replacing the Manfrotto 001B (black) and has a mini ball head, then an ePhoto SB800 flash adapter for 1/4-20 threaded shoe mount with a RadioPopper RPCube Canon version , then a Canon Speedlite Flash 580EX II for Canon EOS digital SLR cameras. I prefer to use the ball head than the flash's tilt and rotate functions. They cannot be pointed down and this ball head makes them quick and easy to adjust and the cold shoe is quick to detach so I can place the unit on a flash floor stand. PS I removed the platform nut from the ball head because it doesn't leave much thread. Now it's easy, locks in place and stays secure at any angle with my flash and a phong diffuser attached. I removed the 3/8" to 1/4" adapter from the light post and the 3/8" to 1/4" grommet from the mini ball head for a tighter fit and a 1/2" height reduction So here's ok, from bottom to top: Manfrotto light stand>Giotto ball head>Kaltschuh ePhoto>RadioPopper Cube>Canon 580EX II.

Pros
  • Not just fit for purpose
Cons
  • Has flaws
