Having two laptops, one for work and one for client access, and having both laptops online made it difficult to swap them back and forth. I have a regular monitor, but carrying cables from laptop to laptop is no fun. The answer was this KVM switch. It comes with USB cables and the hardest part of connecting it was getting velcro to keep the cable tidy. No software, no updates, just plug and play. It should be noted that if you have a dual screen with a regular monitor, there is no problem switching back and forth. If you have extended the screen, if you walk away and then come back all the windows are on the laptop and you have to drag back onto the shared monitor.
