This stand is suitable for light bikes, not mountain bikes. I have an all aluminum gold frame which is lighter than most frames and maximizes clamping ability. The whole stand is very solid and steady, if you don't mind: it has two legs, and if you take your weight off the middle of the legs, it will fall over. The worst is the clip to hold the bike. It doesn't fit in a wide frame and doesn't support weight, so anything it clamps can slide between the rubberized plastic grips. I've compared this to other coasters and unless you're going for $200+ coasters you won't find anything better. If you have a heavy MTB, I wouldn't buy racks under $200 from Revain.
