I've seen some reviewers say the bit is weak and has imperfections. There are others who say the bits last for about 200 holes. I don't think either of these camps are using the racquet properly. In order to prolong the life of the bit, you must connect the clamping device to the dust collection system. .In the beginning I had trouble not using the dust collector. The chisel would overheat, sometimes even my HD Rigid Drill would get stuck. When the rigging is filled with wood shavings, it creates extra friction and stress on the bit, and it's no surprise that the weakest point (read: the thinnest part of the bit), the tip, breaks at some. I've used the HD system to create some large storage racks (9'Hx18'Wx3'D) and I was pleased with how well it came out and how solid the HD system was. Yes, no dust collection, about 200 holes is ok. After switching to dust extraction, I made over 600 holes in the drill before I had to buy a new one. Plug in your vacuum, save money on broken/worn out bits and your wallet will thank you.
