Review on Panasonic LUMIX H-H025E-K 25mm Silver Lens for G Series - Micro Four Thirds Camera by Somsak Boonsri ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is completely satisfied, performs its functions.

I will say right away - I bought used glass. To find it for an adequate price, I had to strain, basically everything is sold for 9-10 thousand, that is, almost at the price of a new one. For such money it is better to take a new one with a guarantee. It should be borne in mind that the lens is not very "bokeh", it can be better. Although this is not so much a problem of the lenses as of the system - there is background blur, but on the micro 4/3 system it is in principle not as highly artistic, not what many expect. In any case, the glass from the "must have" category is a good aperture ratio and an excellent picture for adequate money. Of the minuses - autofocus is noisy, it is better to shoot video with a manual one. On Olympus carcasses, the diaphragm sometimes clicks, similarly with Panasonic 14mm glass. I have not seen this with Olympus lenses. Bottom line: of the entire fleet of glasses for the system, this should be bought first of all by everyone who wants to purchase a fix, there are no alternatives for such a cost. All of these shortcomings are insignificant and leveled by the price. A pancake with a FR 5 mm smaller than the Panasonic 20 mm costs twice as much, an analogue of 25mm from Olympus is also twice as expensive. For other prime lenses for a system with a similar aperture, the prices are much higher. The glass has a "big brother" - Leica 25mm 1.4. The picture on it, judging by the tests, is even richer, but the price is very different.

Pros
  • - fast - Not expensive even new - Good equipment - lens hood in the kit, some manufacturers are trying to sell this piece of plastic separately for 2-3 thousand - Sharp across the field, even wide open - The focal length is universal, fifty dollars it is fifty dollars (25mm x 2) - Fast autofocus
Cons
  • - plastic, with the exception of the bayonet - there is no stabilizer. For Olympus owners, it is not critical, since the stub is built into the carcass. For Panasonic and other manufacturers, it's worth keeping in mind. Aperture saves, it's not really needed. - not protected from moisture, dust, etc., although I shot it in the rain and nothing seemed to happen to it - noisy autofocus for video - The size is not the most compact, you can’t call it pocket

Some pros: Lightweight, relatively compact, fast and very affordable classic "fifty dollars" for the MFT. Cons: There are noticeable chromatic aberrations on the Olympus. As far as I know, there is no such thing on Panasonic cameras.
