Review on πŸŽ’ Efficient and Compact: Tote-N-Stor 25608 Portable Waste Transport - 25 Gallon Capacity, in Sleek Gray Design by Carlos Burrows

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Essential if you are planning a long trip and don't want to move.

Bought this for a week on a non-sewage hike. I have a 30 liter black one and a 30 liter gray one. I purposely went with 25 gallons as anything else seemed unwieldy. I usually do a 3/4 black drain and some gray to flush out the hoses, then do additional runs as needed. 25 gallons is a good compromise between size and use. At 25 gallons, it's heavy (almost very heavy), so using a hitch to move it and attach it to your vehicle helps. In my opinion this can be moved by hand but I would suggest using your vehicle for this size or larger. It's very easy to pull this, as I've done on rough trails at the campsite, but I managed. It would have helped if the wheels were bigger, but it worked. It goes without saying that you drive slowly when towing this product. This product works well but you have to be really careful when using this product. As with any raw sewage treatment, proceed slowly and carefully. When full, it doesn't flow freely like a regular drain because you are restricted by the vent. There's no way to gauge how full it is unless you feel the weight (impractical) or look down the vent tube with a flashlight that's about the size of a 5/8-inch hole. A flashlight will help, but again, be careful when peering into this hole as it will release raw feces and can squirt when shaken to shoot out the vent, so be careful when refilling. My advice: DO NOT refill this product. Leave yourself some space to avoid unnecessary accidents or spills. As far as cleaning goes, you'll have to put some effort into rinsing it out. This pouch does not completely drain on its own. There is a small lip that will keep some liquid in the tub. This is a fill/flush, repeat the process to ensure it is clear. I only did 3 rinses to clean dirt and liquids properly. I will chemically treat the bag during the trip and fully clean it at home. Overall I like this bag. Basically, it's not very easy to use and clean, but it's definitely the best alternative for moving your rig. At 25 gallons it's very heavy to lift, so be careful when putting it in your car for transport. (25 gallons = 208.5 lbs) Use caution when selecting bag size and suitability for transportation. The accessories seemed cheap and I ended up replacing them all. As previously mentioned, the shape of the bag and the location of the drain hole make it difficult to empty the entire contents. Finally, I would have liked a larger wheelset and ground clearance to accommodate older roads and camping trails. All in all, this job isn't inherently fun and has its own quirks, but it's still the best alternative to moving your rig. The bag may have better design features, but it's still incredibly useful. Build quality is good, but I'd rather replace the included accessories with more durable products (1/2" flush hose and 3" drain hose). Finally, I would like to see larger wheels to accommodate less caring roads/trails when camping. However, the cost and features of this bag make it a recommendable product.
