Review on πŸš— Powerful Car Amplifier: BOSS Audio Systems AR1500M - 1500 Watts Max Power, Class AB, Monoblock, Mosfet Power Supply by Laura Thomas

Overheating and excessive RMS output

First things first - the amp has a metal case and looks good - it seems to reproduce my 800w RMS subwoofers into 2 ohms with the same volume and quality as the amp, which I replaced it with (The gain of the amp is the same as the multimeter) - This is a 2 channel amp, good if you need to connect 2 pairs of wires, otherwise it will also be connected with a bridge - It will come with a bass control Supplied - It's cheap Now with a bad one - First, the connectors are too small for typical 4 gauge ring connectors (plastic baffles limit space) with holes under the screws for attaching the ground wire and power wires. This A/B amp has two 25A fuses meaning it can only deliver up to around 500 watts which would explain the following disadvantage: This amp has serious overheating issues, it can run my subs typically for 25 minutes before shutting down to protect itself, and then restarting after 5 minutes (checked power supply and solid ground points). An amplifier was used for context. in Texas this summer with weeks of over 95F days and 85F nights it still happened despite the amp in my car being exposed to the air conditioning. I listen to bass-heavy music, but it's clear that the 800W (RMS) @ 2ohm x2 amp can't handle my 400W @ 2ohm x2 subwoofer for even half an hour. The 1125W RMS mono amp couldn't put out a measly 300W RMS and even went into protection mode at 251W. With this amp being only 100W more RMS I wouldn't want to see what it actually does. In summary, the amp is grossly overrated for the power, will overheat and shut down after 20 minutes of use, and likely clip your speakers. . I recommend buying a Pioneer GM-D9601 if your speakers are at or below 1200W RMS, dynamometer testing shows they achieve the advertised 1200 RMS output with 1700W peak, they don't overheat like Boss Audio and are only $170 . So for an additional $100, you can protect your speakers from clipping damage and get the best performance out of your subwoofers.
