I bought these for my laptop dock. I've had a docking station for a long time, but a month ago I decided to redo my desk. The cable I had was only 1 foot and will not reach now. I bought an extension cord that worked fine but was light blue and wanted a smoother cord so I bought this one. Worked fine for a week, but now it randomly disconnects from my dock almost once an hour. Today I was in the middle of a presentation during a meeting and my laptop just started to shut down. You definitely shouldn't bother with this cable.
