Good Quality Drum Brake Kit

With most cars now fitted with 4 wheel disc brakes many of these tools are obsolete but if you have an older car or trailer with drum brakes this kit is great for changing and adjusting the brake shoes. You can do without a vise and normal pliers, but these tools make the job a lot easier. I've seen sets like this twice as expensive. The quality of this set is quite good. The molded plastic case holds all the tools well. Each tool feels heavy and solid, and multiple tools of different sizes are included. Each of the spring tools has a conveniently shaped handle that allows you to push and twist them with ease. Brake spring pliers do not have a spring tool on the opposite end like some models; I like it better when a separate tool has a screwdriver-shaped handle. Also, the spring pliers have a pointed end on one of the arms, rather than a flat washer like some other models. This is best for stretching the spring at the top or bottom where the flat washer slips off the shoe, but it will leave a nick in the shoe unless you hook the end to another piece of gear, which you can do as needed may or may not be based on your drum type. All in all, if you work on drum brakes more than once then I would highly recommend this set.
