Review on Nalgene Bottle Carrier Insulated: Keep Your 32 Oz Bottles Cold in Gray by Eric Surabhi

Ok not great it works

I got the blue Nalgene neoprene case at the same time and will wear both but in my opinion neither is outstanding. This one is thinner and less insulated than I expected but seems to work decently. Lexan/Tritan quart bottles are a little slow to insert or remove depending on perspiration or bottle moisture, but polyester bottles slide more easily. It is good when the lid is closed. However, this lid forces you to squeeze the plastic loop to close the lid. There are a few molded dimples on the case's "hard" lid, but they don't seem to do anything to prevent the need to bend the strap. But it works. Definitely don't expect this to replace a thermos/vacuum flask, but it does keep liquids warm for a while and generally prevents them from freezing even at freezing temperatures (usually). I won't actually be using a loop or handle for hanging, but with a 2.5 pound load (full bottle) I don't expect them to withstand a ton of load or abrasion. By the way, the handle on this one stretches a bit. The old factory bottle sleeves were much better and I hope they bring them back soon - they fully justified their high price even if they were a bit bulky.

Pros
  • Heavy duty finish
Cons
  • Some minor issues
