Used to buy a gorilla type tripod. It was fine, but it was difficult to set up and trust that the weight of the camera/phone wouldn't ruin it. This resulted in poor video angles that went unnoticed until edited. I thought I would use bendy legs to attach to trees and other objects, but again there was a trust issue. When it was recommended by AT Thru Hike Vlogger I quickly bought it. It's exactly what you need for minimalist, lightweight mountaineering/hiking gear. However, it's pretty durable and easy to set up to create great videos/photos. While it's not super expensive, I want to save money on my first purchase and get this one to start with. It meets all my needs, including the ability to securely attach it to various objects in nature with secure Velcro. Gives a chance for "Money Shot".
