I am a pool professional who maintains saltwater pools on a daily basis. This meter does not give accurate temperature readings (which is critical for a reliable salt reading) and also seems to give readings that are consistently below actual salinity. The response time is also very slow, ie. It will take a few minutes for the final reading to appear. I have yet to find a source of the correct calibration solution to ensure it is properly calibrated. Most blood glucose meters recommend wetting the probe tips, but this one says exactly the opposite: dry between uses. I doubt the accuracy of this gauge after more than 2 weeks of field use. Cheap, yes, but if that's not true, what's the point?
