First of all I would like to point out that I drive long distances and am also a music lover so my review is a bit skewed by these facts. That being said, I've had the Sena SMH10-11 headset for about a month now and for the most part it's great! I like the overall functionality of the device and it fits perfectly with my helmet (HJC IS MAX BT). ADVANTAGES: * You can call someone off the street without them knowing you're cycling. I tried it out on a 80 mph Harley on a windy day.* The speakers are well tucked into the side of my helmet and are mostly comfortable.* The speakers are very loud. In fact, they're so loud I can put on earbuds and turn them up loud enough to hear them. That's a big plus when you're riding a Harley for 12 hours with a loud whistle.* Battery life is pretty decent. When listening to music loud (see comment on earbuds above), the battery lasts about 8 hours. When listening to audio books, it lasts over 14 years. Withstands bad weather quite well. CONS: * Sound could be better. As I said, I'm a music lover and sound is very important to me. Highs and mids are good and sound clear even with earplugs. Just don't expect a lot of bass. Doesn't really matter as the bass isn't audible anyway but it just annoys me when I stop etc. *Intermittent crashes when connecting via Bluetooth to my Galaxy Note 5. that it's plugged in but the sound is still coming through the speaker of my phone. In this case, the controls still work, but there is no sound. Sometimes I have to turn Bluetooth on and off on my phone to fix the problem.* On my helmet, the speakers are best placed near my ears, halfway across the helmet straps. It's not a big deal, and the velcro that comes with the speakers still holds up well. It's just sometimes awkward to center them properly without feeling uncomfortable. But remember, it's me with my helmet. Every head is unique!* USB charging is quite a hassle, especially if you don't have the cable that came with the device. The USB connector is a micro USB connector, the same as most phones these days, but the connector is recessed into the device to provide a rubber cover. The problem is that many micro USB chargers don't fit into a recessed plug, so charging can be tricky at times. * The headset itself does not appear to have a mute function. Sometimes I join conference calls while driving and would love to be able to mute when I'm not speaking without fiddling with my phone. Overall this is a great device and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good Bluetooth headset. Sena could make some improvements, but overall I really like it. If the time came, I would definitely buy another one!
