then there aren't many better options for the money

I bought one of these to replace an SMH-5 I had for six or seven years and ended up returning it. On its own, this is a fully discoverable headset, and if you need group intercom capabilities on a regular basis, there aren't many better options for the money. 99% of the time I ride alone or in pairs and the trade-offs just weren't worth it for me. Compared to my $75 SMH-5 with $15 upgraded speakers, this headset didn't have the volume or sound quality to enjoy music and podcasts while driving…

Big! Costs money!

Works great! I was expecting decent sound quality and volume given the Sena branding, but to be honest I was very skeptical about the quality of phone calls. I have a Honda Shadow with Vance and Hines pipes making the bike very noisy. very loud. I had extensive conversations with people while driving and I not only heard them well, they also understood me crystal clear. I can't speak on the intercom because I didn't use it. I really like the wired microphone option. I have a full face helmet…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Was damaged

Speakers below average. Everything else is well built.

I would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the speakers. The build quality and the ability to mount at a height. Pairing with the iPhone went smoothly. There are many optional velcro attachments to adapt it to your helmet. Operation was easy - it's just press a button and "Ask Siri" or turn the dial to +/- volume. However, the speakers are not very good - the base is very small, the caller's voice is very high-pitched. with a quiet and crackling sound (I tried them at home first with no ambient…

And now I'm glad I made

So when I bought them I expected to be able to plug headphones into them. It wasn't, and it upset me greatly. I decided to go ahead and try out the speakers before shelling out another $40 for a mount that would allow me to use headphones. And so far I'm happy with what I've done. The speakers work really well. I can hear phone calls, music, GPS, etc. They are amazing! Installation was easy for me too. And since I bought a double pack, my friend's helmet now has one of these units as well. This

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Wonderful headset, very well made, with many useful features.

What a great piece of equipment! Well made, beautiful and has so many features. I bought a pair of SMH10-11s with 2 different mics because I wasn't sure which would fit my modular helmet best. I ended up using an overhead mic on my Nolan N43 Trilogy helmet. The Sena headset also comes with a wide range of mounting accessories. I just installed the speakers but decided to also install additional speaker pads to bring them closer to my ears. I mainly use it to communicate with other riders in my…

I would first like to point out that I

First of all I would like to point out that I drive long distances and am also a music lover so my review is a bit skewed by these facts. That being said, I've had the Sena SMH10-11 headset for about a month now and for the most part it's great! I like the overall functionality of the device and it fits perfectly with my helmet (HJC IS MAX BT). ADVANTAGES: * You can call someone off the street without them knowing you're cycling. I tried it out on a 80 mph Harley on a windy day.* The speakers…

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • not the best

This is my first motorcycle communication system. I wear Arai Signet-Q, XL, with improved, thicker cheek pads. WHY I BUY THIS * Required Bluetooth connectivity with iPhone 5 * Required * Easier to put on and take off helmet than SMH5-XX models * Desired flexibility in microphone mounting * Sena had better reviews and price compared to other brands. I rode with this communication system for about 2-3 months (before the weather got cold). BENEFITS* Easy on and off between rides - the device…
