Review on Stylish and Comfortable: Lexicon Elle Accent Chair in Dark Gray by Micheal Esquivel

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nicely designed chair with a few imperfections

We bought this chair even though it didn't have any reviews on Revain yet. We reviewed a few similar chairs at Wayfair and Revain, like the Alvarado Lounge Chair at Wayfair for $211. We chose this one because we liked the aesthetic better and it cost $185. Overall, I'd rate it as average due to the excessive packaging, not-so-comfy back cover, and design that doesn't quite match the photos. The chair was not sent to Prime and it took about a week to arrive. The first thing that struck me was the ridiculous amount of styrofoam that went into packaging this chair. It's an armchair! Do you really need that much Styrafon? I would have preferred the company used a heavier box instead of all the polystyrene interior. The box is completely lined like the inside of a cool box. Strangely, the wooden legs, which needed most of the padding, were loosely wrapped in soft paper. Assembly was easy enough, although there are a few "carriage bolts" that need to be inserted by hand, which is a little fiddly. They really need to be preinstalled. After installation, I installed them in my room. It looks fantastic against my vintage hifi system. It would be nice if the company preinstalled the felt pads that I installed manually. I didn't get a perfect cut so it doesn't look that good. Maybe they can supply more felt pads that fit perfectly. Upholstery work is not outstanding. Some waves are visible on the back of the pillow and on the front. In the stock photo the butt pad is much more rounded than what I received. The wood look is excellent. The armrests are well positioned. I would rate the backrest with 1 or 2 stars. There is a crossbar inside the cushion which I felt as soon as I sat down on the chair. Overall I like the design of the chair and the way it sits in the room. Practicality and comfort are another story. I'm keeping the box as I might end up returning it and get a slightly more expensive Wayfair chair instead.
