I will be the first to say that I am skeptical about such things. But this stuff really works! My puppy naturally has quite dry and brittle paws and we walk a lot. This isn't the best combination and results in a lot of cracking and tearing in their pads. After a few days of regular use of this balm, I noticed a huge difference. Her pads were softer, less cracked and so pliable! She seemed to find it much easier to climb rocks and go on long hikes, and after that she stopped licking her paws as often. By the way, after she applied the paw balm, she didn't lick it off right away, which surprises me because this dog licks EVERYTHING! The balm has a really natural waxy scent and isn't repulsive at all but she doesn't seem to care which I like because it lasts and absorbs. Basically, if you're on the fence, just do it! This balm is awesome and I don't go hiking without it in my backpack anymore.
