Works great and cheap.

I try not to write a review until I use the product. I've finally started using this set of lace up bits and am very happy with the product as long as they don't punch holes without me touching them. I'm new to using sewing/lacing chisels as I'm just a casual dab at the leather shop. For many years I used a simple awl and punch. As you can imagine these tools are quite labor intensive when making bags or cases, I know because I have made several of these tools. Using a hole punch and awl to punch holes for sewing is not only tedious, but keeping your stitch lines evenly spaced or even straight can be a challenge, no matter how well marked your material is. Due to a tight budget I have to choose toys wisely and after completely ruining a very nice piece of Latigo leather I decided to take a chance and buy this set of lace up bits from Aiskaer. The problem of the work and especially the problem of the right distances is solved for me. Even traversing curves, which used to be the most annoying part of sewing, is now more precise and easier. Eventually, the problems I had aligning the top and bottom suture holes were greatly reduced. The chisels are sharp and easily cut through 8-9 ounces of leather. They are available with different teeth, different tooth spacings and different sized hole punches in the material. If anyone can suggest a sharper tool that is durable and has the same range of hole size and spacing, I'm willing to hear about it and, if not outrageously, try it. So far I am a satisfied customer. If I run into any issues I will definitely update my review to reflect any changes I think.
