After using this kettle for about 3 months I noticed brown stains on the underside of the stainless steel inside the kettle. Although the product brochure states that the brownish stains are due to a high level of iron in the water, called scale, and that the stains can be easily wiped off with a cloth or mild abrasive cleaner, this is only half the story. Stains can usually be removed with a mild abrasive cleaner, but will reappear the next time the kettle is used. Whether they are harmful or not, it is not very appetizing to use water from a glass teapot if brown stains are visible on the bottom, and it is not interesting to clean the inside of the teapot after each use. For this reason alone I would not recommend the kettle.
