First of all I suggest you ignore all 5 and 1 star reviews. The 5-star folks mostly drink Kool Aid, and the 1-star folks are a bunch of whiners you wouldn't want to share Joe's cup of tea with anyway. I'm serious! ;o) Still, I like this car. He does everything (except buying beans and serving coffee in bed). You must hire a servant to manually grind and cook the beans if you want the best quality. However, there are a few caveats. We got the steel thermos version because my wife hates the burnt coffee taste when the carafe sits all day. (So, turn the damn thing off!) I don't like the tight lid on the steel carafe, which is designed to keep the heat in but hinder pouring. It pours slowly, and then you have to remove the lid to pour the last cup. But it's steel and won't break, so that's good. Another thing to watch out for is coffee dust buildup, which will weaken your coffee if you don't clean it regularly (see video!). Cuisinart says it should be cleaned every 7-10 days, but that's not enough. I suffer from CRS and can't remember the last time I cleaned it so I do it every day. takes about a minute. Finally, don't put coffee beans in the freezer. It also gets in the way. But that is also one of the instructions. Basically, if you follow the instructions, this machine will make great coffee every morning at the time you set. I definitely recommend this car. By the way, if you want a glass decanter model, check out [.] for a really great price.
