First, the price is ridiculously high. Exhaust fans for bathrooms are now greatly overrated. The detail is an attempt to replace worn out motors in 25 year old fans. New builds require drywall, plumbing and wiring with access to the attic to work on so this is not an option and they are grossly overpriced. This motor assembly looked serviceable which is why I paid the price for this unit. Finally, the stem is the same diameter but an inch longer, the blower is too narrow. Cut the shaft and regrind the key on it and install the old bracket and fan. It works after a lot of effort. I used to be able to buy entire exhaust fans for $25 and just steal the fan and blower from them. All the new stuff is designed to take a lot of work to install and they're not even compatible with each other.
