This is a great machine for internet access, email and document creation via Google apps. If that's all you do, this could be a great option for you. I believe this is all that more than half of the population needs, but there are limitations. Here is my list of pros and cons. Cons: 1. You cannot run Microsoft Office or other PC software. This is the key hover for Chromebook. If you need PC specific software, you need PC.2. You cannot connect directly to a printer3. Using it offline (without an internet connection) is not enough. That means you can't work without the internet. Chromebook relies on online apps.4. You must have a Google account and all your work is saved in an app called Google Drive. I put it on the cons list because some people don't like it. Personally, I think you're as safe as any machine with internet access. Pros: 1. You can perform almost the same functions of Microsoft Office and other programs through Google applications (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.), which, by the way, are free. Before I bought mine, I even made sure I could open Word and Excel docs through their respective Google apps. The translation works both ways.2. If you want to print, you must have access to a cloud-based wireless printer. I bought a Canon printer for less than $70 for this and it works great. This is easily determined by its characteristics when purchasing a printer. You'll love a wireless printer if you've never had one.3. As long as you have internet access, you can do almost anything you can with a laptop. In the modern world we are always online, so I don't see that as an obstacle.4. You can store all your work in cloud storage, but you can also use internal and external storage. This is done through your free Google account and you can access your work from any computer by signing in.5. Long battery life - up to eight hours of continuous use.6. Extremely Lightweight 7. Great Value.8. It's very easy. Almost everything is easy on this machine.9. Always starts, ready to use in seconds.10. The same Internet access as on any PC. So is a Chromebook right for you? If you're like most people, maybe.
