I wanted to see what the watercolor would look like so I went with lavender (muted purple) and red just for a quick test as I need a pattern anyway. It seems to me that this photo shows the true color of the paper as well as the watercolors, even the muted color looked exactly as it should along with the red. I also sew clothes so I was very impressed with the softness of the paper . It's not rough parchment, it's soft, much softer than regular high quality colored watercolor paper, but perfect for brush writing. I used a size 6 brush on the word "love" and the color didn't bleed or show on the back. This company sells amazing products at very reasonable prices. I just ordered a 288 page leather magazine of this paper for less than $30. It's definitely worth a try. The color is darker than the promotional image but I think this photo, like some of the others posted here, is true to color. The box and wrapping are just as fantastic as the paper inside and would make a wonderful gift for any art student or anyone who enjoys working with "distressed" paper.
