We installed 4 of these about 6 months ago. 2 has not been successful so far. What seems to happen is that due to their single screw nature, they can twist a bit from time to time. Tightening it helps for a while, but then it doesn't help - the grip remains free. The threaded part inside the handle (which contains the mounting screw) also holds the two parts of the handle together. It can be tightened with an Allen wrench, but the problem is that it just screws into the thin metal on the outside of the part of the handle you're pulling. It is easy to remove which means the 2 parts of the handle cannot be tightened. I will use the extra parts I ordered to replace them when they fail and then look for a permanent alternative. Note that I've now installed quite a few of these versions for closet doors and haven't had any problems with them. The 2 attachment points on the door handles prevent twisting and so far they're doing a great job.
