Review on πŸ”§ MEIGGTOOL Plastic Router with Tungsten Carbide by Edward Perez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality, good value, wide variety of cutter sizes and profiles

You get seventy [70] half-inch end mills for $1.74 each. Leave it on for a minute. These are not 1/4" shanks to hang around and cut poorly. These are heavy half inch shafts. More mass, more stability, less deflection = better cut quality. cheap quality. Watch the video. I have found the hardest, heaviest, densest piece of maple in my shop. I cut a pretty deep 45 degree bevel in one pass and it did a great job. Never slows down and the cut is very smooth and even. There was a small stitch at the beginning and end of the cut. But after watching the video, I drove pretty slowly at those spots. In any case, I'm pretty sure these bits will hold up well on medium density wood. Well, these are perfect new bits, of course, right out of the box. So they're pretty sharp. The material is carbon steel with a head and a YG6 alloy cutter. So in terms of material quality, not all cutters are, but just look at the variety of profiles you can cut. This set fills MANY gaps in my milling cutter collection. And not just the "type" of the bits, but a wide range of sizes for each type. I will be using them for small amounts of DIY work. When I need to cut a 1" burr on a pair of red oak stair treads, I use a heavier gauge custom bit. The wooden storage box is a really nice addition. Drills are clearly marked. They fit into their slots. pretty reliable. Box and hardware are not the best. But it's more than enough to keep the Beats organized and protected. Overall I'm really impressed with the quality of these bits, especially given the very aggressive price tag. Huge selection of cutting profiles and sizes for many applications. The cut quality is excellent. I'm not sure about the durability of the cutting edges. But for my DIY woodworking needs, I expect this set to last well enough for many years. , definitely recommend. This is a very impressive collection of 1/2 inch router bits.
