Review on πŸ₯• Efficiently Peel Vegetables with AmazonCommercial Stainless Steel Horizontal Blade Peeler by Wendy Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is probably the strongest and sharpest vegetable peeler I've ever used.

I bought this peeler because I wanted something restaurant quality that could handle very thick, tough vegetable skins. I tested it extensively on several vegetables and here are my results. The first two photos show that I used it to peel turnips. The skins of the turnips are very thick and they are also coated in food grade wax and I literally folded them with potato peelers beforehand; it worked without any problems. (I have brown spots on my swedes, unusually deep scars that had to be cut away with a paring knife. The normal skin was no problem.) I also testified that I used it to peel carrots. Because the blade is wide and very stiff, I was only able to make very narrow strips, but it was quick. It is also great for removing scars from small potatoes. I ended up peeling a Delicata squash with it. They don't usually need to be peeled, but if you have scars or rough patches and want to peel them off, it can be extremely difficult and you'll have to cut them open with a knife. This scrub did the trick with no problems. After I cut the pumpkin into strips, I was able to use a vegetable peeler to peel the fiber material from the inside. As it's a bit larger overall, stiffer and has a wide blade, another knife might be better for some smaller jobs, but overall I'd rate it as a great product in the kitchen of anyone who cooks a lot. I would also like to point out that it comes with a small plastic cap on the blade and I intend to keep it with the cap on as the blade is razor sharp as far as I can tell.
