Review on 📷 Mazda Backup Camera Retain/Add-On - Axxess AX-MAZCAM-6V (2007-2015) by Troy Coste

I swiped this from Crutchfield's review (thanks Kirk from Salt Lake City) and it saved my setup! The car was installed on the 2014 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring. The instructions just don't work. I installed exactly as instructed and got no input from the factory camera. After some time with a multimeter, I found that the blue and black 12V to 6V adapter is NOT NECESSARY for my car. My second issue, which may not be related to this point, was the PAC harness. There was no signal from the reverse signal wire (checked with a multimeter). I had to connect the yellow Axxess wire to the reverse signal wire BEFORE the PAC harness, check the online diagrams and check for 12v with a multimeter (don't forget to reverse and put the parking brake on!). Connect the black wire to the other black ground wire and connect the camera connector to the stereo's camera input. Now it works great, turns on every time.
