I bought this adapter to connect a Lenovo laptop with an HDMI port to a Lenovo monitor with a Display port. Well, it was late at night and I didn't register a ONE-DIRECTIONAL statement in the listing. Yes these people are not kidding and the cable will not work if you plug the DP end of this adapter into the DP port on the monitor and connect an HDMI cable to your HDMI source and to this adapter. nope! It is used to connect a DP source to an HDMI monitor. So I plugged in a USB-C hub with a DP port and then used this adapter to connect my computer to my TV just to test it out. It works quite well, but not the other way around. Obviously I don't have the hardware to test the 8K adapter's capabilities. The cable on the adapter is braided nicely and feels like a high quality cable. The DP and HDMI ports are nicely shaped. Good quality adapters. Recommended if you need it.
