Nice little sewing machine

I ordered this sewing machine to have on hand for mending clothes and for small odd jobs and then to pack it away when not in use. I'm by no means a whore, although my mother was in her teens, so I know the basics and that's it. I tried it yesterday and found that the machine exceeded my expectations. It's plastic, which isn't surprising, but with proper care and protection during storage, it will last as long as I need it to. It's lightweight and has a backlight to illuminate your projects well. It has enough different stitches and functions (like sewing on buttons and making buttonholes, more than I'll ever need) to be really useful. The instructions are easy to follow and the sewing mechanism movement is smooth and very durable. It worked pretty well on my small projects yesterday. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the presser foot lever is plastic and will eventually break even with careful use. A few tips: If you're buying this machine, get steel spools and heavier gauge needles, as the machine comes with plastic spools (which I don't think hurt, but aren't as accurate as steel) and the needle is a little lighter Side. I was fixing my husband's heavy canvas pants so I was glad I went to the store and bought a heavy duty needle. In general, I am satisfied with the purchase and I hope that it will serve me for a long time.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled
