First, a very strange assembly. You have to assemble a number of different parts to assemble a luggage rack and a real shelf. Among these parts are plastic parts that make the structure fragile and can also be crushed out of shape when tightening long screws that go through the pillar. Also, the supplied hex keys didn't fit the screw heads properly, so I had to find my own set to do it. I bought it for an A/V receiver that weighs exactly 22 pounds. This shelf does NOT carry any weight. The shelf tipped down so much under the weight that I feared it would either give out completely and break, or just slowly tip down until the handset fell off. There is a mounting plate that screws to the wall. The mounting plate was close to the wall and didn't move. The entire bend was in the actual shelf/column design. Note on the mounting plate: It is prepared for 4 screws. There are 4 curved long holes in the corners. On paper this is a great idea because if one or more wall anchors are slightly misaligned you can still adjust the mounting plate to sit flat thanks to the shape of these holes. HOWEVER, if the screw is close to the outside edge of the mounting plate, it will interfere with the mounting of the shelf to the mounting plate due to the shape of the back of the rack. Although this shelf might be suitable for carrying a WiFi router. or similar I would not advise anyone to buy because of the ridiculous design. I now have a few holes to fill and paint before I buy the best shelf. Thanks Cheetah Mounts! I'm sending the wall sofa I assembled in the garage last night. I'd appreciate you mounting it to the wall with the included 620 screws before you realize you can't really sit on it. You can just give it back to me later. I think it will level us. If you pay to ship the sofa. And a generous $50 fee for my wasted work.
