This is my first experience with sealing wax and I think this set is a great introduction. It's simple - cut a small piece of wax (poured into a stick the size of a lily), put it in a spoon, melt the wax over a candle, pour and stamp - but that's it it not. It seems to be one of those activities that takes some time to get really good at. It is definitely worth aligning the stamp in the middle, to get a clean edge around the design. As for this set, it is very nicely packaged in a small book-shaped box, bound with ribbon. Inside everything fits neatly and looks very attractive. I chose this kit partly because the wax does not come with wicks as I have read that the wicks can burn the wax and leave unsightly black marks on the print, but the downside is that the wax sticks are quite hard to cut. I worked with a kitchen knife for a long time before I gave up, clamped it in a vice and sawed it off with a small saw in about five seconds.
