I love that the cover is designed like a notepad, can be lifted at the top and the pages are easy to remove. An elastic band attaches and wraps around the back to keep it closed when not in use. The drawings are delicate but light gray (the camera kept wanting to increase the contrast, but I tried to show a comparison with the black cover of the book).
