Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Pressure-Adjustable Replacement with Exclusive Design by Johnny Nguyen

A regular strap with a battery mount is cool and works. Important - does your battery fit? Give it a try

3 stars because it's not a flagship luxury strap and doesn't even come close. BUT. like the other universal strap, is ok, better than the standard strap etc. For me - with this headset strap - my issues with the Quest 2 headset are mostly solved (and I didn't just trade one issue for another) - this one Version of the universal "Elite" belt is the first version of this type with a battery holder - it works and so far (after 1 whole day) I am satisfied. Quick note: I have never owned and never used an Elite strap - I used the generic "Elite" strap with my Quest 2 for about 6 months along with an external battery - Anker PowerCore 13000mAh - I experimented with the battery. In my bag, I attached the battery to the back of the strap with Velcro, and also experimented with simply attaching the battery to the Velcro (instead of using straps). All of these methods "work" and each has its own pros and cons - I just needed an integrated solution that worked. I got tired of looking for a solution and went too far to just go for a high-end headset with a built-in battery. So I settled on this headset replacement as soon as I saw it was useful. It's not perfect, it's not bad, it's the same as the original generic but with a battery mount. I am happy. No more random straps on your head or annoying heavy stuff in your bag. In fact, this is an upgrade from the previous version only because of the added battery mount, but only because of that - the headset itself is similar to the version without the battery. Aside from the battery mount, it doesn't look like a major improvement over the previous design. So 1 thought and important info: Find out exactly the width/height of the battery you intend to use with this headset and make sure it fits in the clip/holder. The battery I'm using (Anker PowerCore 13000) was the max max width the clamp/mount could handle. The hinges on my mount/clip are completely springy/stretched/tight - I thought the clip would break when I tried to push the battery in (and I had to work hard to get it to fit). - I do not recommend this headset if you have the same or similar size battery. Inserting the battery into the clamp was not very comfortable. Also, knowing it's not exactly the right fit isn't the best experience (at least for me) - we'll see if that makes a difference in the coming days. Bad update with photo after I had another day or two of experience with this situation - it could still work, will update.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not an automatic strap
