These are simple cheap plastic supports to support your boat's canopy. They don't pile on it. The problem is that they don't last very long. The weak point is in the joints, where each piece of plastic slides into the next. When pressure or weight is applied to the bar, it flexes at this joint and is only held in place by a small piece of plastic. Both of my sticks capsized within the first two weeks of holding the boat cover. One of the posts using a piece of old rebar I had and tape. Now he's damn strong! The other one, which was also bent and broken, I taped tightly into a spiral and it seems to be holding up well. Just don't plan on having those posts carry any weight without you supporting them in some way.
