Works well but not for indoor use

I've only been using it for a day so I'll update later. My impression so far: I like the powerful zoom, except that it's meant to determine the point of focus on the screen without actually having to move the lens. The menu item may or may not display the status of the lens on the screen. This is a medium telephoto lens that is definitely made for outdoor use in good light. The shots are pretty good and yes the bokeh is really good - you just have to understand how it works. I also like that the zoom is internal. This is useful for the GX85 as it is a lightweight camera; With a lens that physically lengthens when zoomed in, it can be harder to avoid shake at high zoom levels, even with powerful optical image stabilization. I'll have to come back later to add to this review after using it in the field. . It may take a while as I don't use a telephoto lens very often. Also, I would like to test it with macro adapter. Could have made it even more useful.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Has problems

As good or better than the Oly 45/1.8 - AND - with OIS!
